This weekend we had an online CrossFit qualifier (Wodapalooza) on Friday, twelve competitors took on an obstacle course race Saturday afternoon, two took on a mud run Saturday evening and then eight did a 21.9-mile running relay on Sunday. To some this may look a little insane, but to myself as an owner; this is poetry and here is why!
I have studied and been part of a lot in my fitness career; sports teams all the way up through college athletics, studied physical education and sports management in college, ACE Certified Personal Trainer, CrossFit L1 trainer and now I’m learning to program for an Ironman 70.3. I have learned that there is not one, I may take some heat for saying this, not a single one right or wrong way to do fitness. Fitness should be fun!
If someone walks into our gym and says they want to make the OCR world championships (this has happened), we develop a program for them and even do some of the qualifying events with them. If someone wants to run a marathon, we will help with their cross training as well as give advice because we have people that have run that distance before. If someone comes in and has a goal of making the CrossFit Games, we will attempt to help them as well. Most importantly, if you have a goal and want help achieving it, we hope JG3 Fitness pops into your head because #fitnessoutsideofthebox is what we strive to accomplish.
Thanks for reading and even though we strive for #fitnessoutsideofthebox; let us never forget that #icantdoesntexist
